Warren J. Holbrook

Warren Holbrook of Downers Grove Illinois, died on Thursday May 15, 2008 in Arizona. Memorial visitation was held at the Toon Funeral Home on Sunday June 1, 2008.

He was born on June 20, 1930 in Oakland, California, the son of John and Marian Holbrook. Warren taught at the Downers Grove Community High School where he also served as varsity football coach. He latter served as principle at Westlake and Lombard Junior High School.

He joined the Kiwanis Club of Downers Grove,

where he was elected and served as Treasurer for many years. With Kiwanis he coordinated the Bone Marrow drive in 2001-2002, which received state recognition in 2003 with the Governor's Home Award for Downers Grove. Besides also serving as a volunteer for the Downers Grove Park District. and providing support to his political party, Warren enjoyed bowling. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce and grandson Davis.

Warren will be deeply missed by wife Helen, his son Stewart and Stewart's wife June of Virgina, his son Mark and Mark's wife Chariot also of Virgina, and his six grandchildren, Sarah, Warren, Tyler, Matthew, Charlene and Madison.

A Donation to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was made in honor and memory of Warren.
